This year I have been avoiding the thought of Christmas like the plague. This is not at all like me. My daughter has shamed me into buying the first of my Christmas gifts and I thought I may as well wrap them. I have lots of Christmas paper but had always wanted to make my own so I thought why not?
You can get a 12 metre roll of sturdy brown paper from Kmart for $5.
I cut a section approximately a metre long and had a look through my stamp set. I decided to go with a retired set “Visions of Santa” just because it looked like fun. I picked my colours and got myself all set up.
Once I had this I stood back and had a look and felt that there was just too much blank space. I didn’t want anymore hairy Santa legs so I used a stamp from the Eastern Palace set to fill in any glaring gaps.
This was really a quick project. From start to finish, including writing this blog took around 30 minutes.
If you want to give it a try a little birdie tells me we will be making a sheet of paper at my all day Getting Ready for Christmas workshop on the 25th November. You will also make at least 8 Christmas gifts. You will go home with instructions so you can make more of them at home. And I will even feed you! all this for only $40.
